Research That Actually Makes Sense
We started Piralox because investment research felt broken. Too much jargon, too little clarity. Since 2019, we've been building something different for people who want straight answers about their money.
How We Got Here
Every company has a founding story. Ours involves frustration with overcomplicated financial advice and a belief that research should illuminate rather than confuse.
2019
Foundation in Brugge
Started with three analysts and one mission: make investment research accessible to people who don't speak finance fluently. We set up shop in Brugge because the rent was reasonable and the coffee nearby was excellent.
2021
European Coverage Expansion
Added comprehensive analysis of European markets. This wasn't just about covering more stocks—it meant understanding different regulatory environments and economic conditions across the continent.
2023
Educational Platform Launch
Launched our learning resources after clients kept asking the same questions. We figured if everyone's confused about the same concepts, we should probably explain them better.
2024
Research Methodology Refinement
Completely rebuilt our analysis framework based on what actually worked. Turns out, simpler models with better data beat complex equations with questionable assumptions.
2025
Looking Forward
Working on tools that help people understand risk without needing a statistics degree. And yes, we're still in Brugge. The coffee's still good.
Our Research Process
People sometimes ask how we analyze investments. Here's the honest answer: we break down complex financial information into components that make sense, then put them back together in a way that helps with decisions.
Data Collection
We gather financial statements, industry reports, and market data. This part is tedious but essential. Good analysis starts with reliable information.
Context Building
Numbers without context are just numbers. We look at industry trends, competitive positioning, and economic conditions that affect each company.
Risk Assessment
Every investment has risks. We identify them, quantify when possible, and explain what they mean in practical terms rather than statistical abstractions.
Value Analysis
Is the price reasonable given the fundamentals? We use multiple valuation methods because each approach reveals different aspects of value.
Scenario Planning
Markets don't follow predictions. We map out different scenarios—optimistic, pessimistic, realistic—so you understand the range of possibilities.
Clear Reporting
The final step: translating analysis into readable insights. We skip the jargon and focus on information that actually helps with investment decisions.
Why Process Matters
Investment research isn't about having opinions. It's about systematic analysis that reduces uncertainty. Our process has evolved through trial and error—mostly error, if we're honest.
We've learned what works: consistent methodology, multiple verification steps, and healthy skepticism about our own conclusions. Markets humbles everyone eventually, so we try to stay humble from the start.

Investment research comes in many forms. Here's how our methodology differs from conventional approaches—not better necessarily, just different in ways that matter to certain clients.
Marieke Vandewalle
Lead Research Analyst
Who Does the Research
Marieke leads our analysis team and has been with Piralox since we started. She spent ten years at a traditional research firm before joining us, which means she knows both what works in conventional research and what doesn't.
Our team includes analysts with backgrounds in accounting, economics, and—surprisingly useful—journalism. The journalism experience helps with asking uncomfortable questions and explaining complicated topics clearly.
We're based in Brugge but analyze companies across Europe. The location works because research doesn't require fancy offices, just reliable internet and the ability to focus without constant interruptions.
Get in TouchEducation Alongside Research
We started creating educational content because clients kept asking similar questions. Rather than explain valuation methods individually dozens of times, we built resources that anyone can access.
Our learning materials cover fundamental analysis, risk assessment, and market dynamics. They're designed for people who want to understand investment concepts without becoming professional analysts.
We update these resources based on questions we receive and topics that seem to cause confusion. If you're wondering about something, chances are others have the same question.
